Kanab, Utah (June 6th, 2005) - ADVENTURE CROSSING LLC, an interpretive
media company head-quartered in Kanab, UT, is pleased to announce that it has
been invited to participate in Great Outdoors Week. ADVENTURE CROSSING was thrilled to be
included in the event last year and is equally excited to be invited once again
to be one of five presenters at the Recreation Policy Forum on Technology and
Transportation to be held at The Department Of The Interior on June 8th. The
meeting will examine use of new technologies to provide better, faster and more
timely information to public lands' visitors.
ADVENTURE CROSSING will highlight its highly acclaimed Park BasiX
series which has proven to be an innovative interpretive tool, which allows
visitors to America's national parks information regarding the parks and how to
best prepare for their visits. ADVENTURE CROSSINGhas proven to be a leader in both content creation and
utilizing new technology delivery platforms to reach the traveling
public.
Delivery
technologies that will be discussed include streaming and downloading video
content from the Internet, the use of Compact Flash Cards and USB Smart Drives
to allow PDA's, PMD's and laptop computer users access to the video content as
they travel, and the introduction of Wi-Fi and Wi-Max networks in recreation
areas to provide outdoor recreation administrators the tools to deliver content
in visitor centers and beyond.
First proclaimed by President George W. Bush in 2004, Great
Outdoors Month - June - includes a long list of recreation community events and
meetings, including National Trails Day and National Fishing and Boating Week.

Great Outdoors Week will include a Recreation Policy Forum on the nation's
surface transportation program, highlighting its importance to recreation
opportunities and honoring Congressional champions of the Recreational Trails
Program, the Transportation Enhancements program and the National Scenic Byways

June, 2005 will be the second
Great Outdoors Month celebration and will include a special focus on the role
of recreation as a catalyst for physical activity needed to combat
obesity.
For the
second year, the Washington-focused Great Outdoors Week will be a key component
of Great Outdoors Month. The week will again be coordinated by the American
Recreation Coalition (ARC) and will include events hosted by more than a
dozen federal agencies and national organizations.
